Cristiano Ronaldo's new Madrid digs?
The Madrid property market is slathering over a new arrival in town. World No. 1 and former Manchester United footie star Cristiano Ronaldo recently switched allegiances to Real Madrid, and is rumoured to be moving in to this house, above, that's about 15 kilometres west of town. Thing is, nobody's talking as to whether he's renting or whether's he's actually bought. Though his insurance company might be happy that at least it's a bungalow ... you know, no stairs to trip on (one of the first things Real Madrid did was to insure his legs).
Although it's a seven-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot mansion, with five times that space outdoors, Ronaldo can easily afford it; Real Madrid paid Man U the equivalent of $143-million to lure the 24-year-old winger over; many Torontonians were thankful that they did -- our huge Portuguese population loves their native boy, as did the screaming teen girls who managed a glimpse of the new David Beckham at last week's Real Madrid friendly against Toronto FC.
According to overseaspropertymall.com, houses in the hood rent for between $12,000 to $18,000 a month and sell for between $7.5-million and $15-million. It's in a development that has super-high security.
