Paris Hilton told Ronaldo: 'It's never going to work'

The 28-year-old hotel heiress told the soccer ace in a transatlantic phone call to Madrid "this isn't going to work" and disappeared for a sunshine break in Fiji with Doug Reinhardt, 23, an ex-Baltimore Orioles player and actor in the hit MTV series The Hills, reports the Daily Star.Ronaldo reportedly tried to keep their blossoming romance alive with a string of long-range 'passes' over the phone through the summer.
A source close to Ronaldo said: "They kept in touch for a bit but they didn't actually get to see each other because of their busy schedules.
"Then in the end Paris told him it was never going to work. He was pretty gutted, to be honest. He really liked her," the source added.
